Jaques Tati was unquestionably one of the great masters of film sound. Screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrière described Tati at work in a recording studio: “He broke glasses, one after the other, for hours, with utmost seriousness, in order to obtain the best possible sound.” As an homage to Tati, this piece repeats one brief scene from ‘Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot’, using a different sound of breaking glass each time the picture frame breaks.
